I think Autopower makes a bolt in cage....but I'm sure custom would be much better.

Actually I know where i can get one stuck in for around 500... I would rather find a kit off the net and just weld it in to keep cost down....form doesn't matter here, just function. I looked in jegs....but nothing really looked the part.

You're not going to a find a cage worth a damn for $500 for less. Autopower is probably going to be the cheapest adequately built cage, and IIRC, they run just under $800 for the bolt in cage.

I haven't seen any weld together kits, except Autopower's kit that allows you to weld the front half to one of their roll bars, but I don't think you'll be able to get that for less than $500.

You certainly aren't going to get a custom cage for $500.

I wouldn't skimp money on something that could potentially save your life....

And what are you gonna do with a 4 pt cage? At least go 6, if not 8...

I just orered a 6 point with a LOT of extra diagonals from i-o port (autopower distributor) and it was about $1100 shipped. Their basic 4points is probably going to be about about $600 shipped. Good cages and If your only looking for a 4 point your not going to need anything more than their cage.

I think maybe he meant roll bar, not a cage. 4 point cage would be silly. for a cage you need at least 6 point. Autopwer sells a good 4 point roll bar that is SCCA hill climb legal.

The only reason I am going to go with a four point is that is what the series mandates....i could go more but then I'm driving a heavier car than I started with, I want to be competitive at the least. It's only a dirt car that will run in the 75 mph range...I think I will be fine with the smaller cage.
