Getting rid of primer sanding dust before paint?
Looking for tips on getting this out of the nooks and crannies and reducing the risk of it coming in contact with my wet paint. I rather not use water as it takes days for it to dry completely out of...those nooks and crannies.
well water doesnt take days to dry. not in florida at least. i use water on almost every car we paint and set it in the sun for about a half hour. but u could use an air blower and a rag and wipe while u blow. IMO, washing the car before painting always makes for the cleanest jobs. at my job, we dont have time to wash every car but the ones that we do always turn out to be the cleanest ones
I washed my car yesterday around 6pm and it was still wet under the door moulding and in the cracks at 9pm tonight.

Yeah, use an air gun...blow out all cracks, molding, jambs etc...problem solved.

Yep, a blow gun is just one of the many standard tools used for prepping. Blow and wipe w/ a clean rag at the same time. Also some paint companies make water based prep cleaner that works super good for removing dust/ scum caught in the surface of the abraded parts. Even if you blow then tack the surface, this prep cleaner will still remove more shizznit. BASF's version is the 909 prep cleaner.
