Kuhmo - longer tread life, better traction in the rain, more comfortable ride, less noise than the falken, softer sidewall
Falken - very sticky, less tread life/12,000 miles max, coughbandwagontirecough

I wouldn't say that at all. They are two entirely different tires, and it all depends on what you're looking for.
If you want a tire that gives great performance on dry pavement, and you don't really care about how long they last or how well they do in rain, then the Azenis may be the perfect tire for you. Especially if you sometimes use your car for autocross or on the racetrack. On dry pavement, it's just about the stickiest street tire you can get, in sizes for most of our cars.
If you care about how long they last, or if you need tires that are great in rain, and you don't mind giving up a bit of dry traction for those qualities, then the SPT is the better choice.
Incidentally, you can expect the SPT to last 2-3 times as long as the Azenis (typically 25-45K miles vs 10-12K miles), which is a big difference.

It's not so much a band wagon tire. It's more just different tires for different needs. The falkens are more suited to auto-x, the SPTs are more of daily driving. Each has their pros and cons.
Like 'e-money' said, the SPTs have longer life, better grip in the rain and still good grip in the dry. The falkens will beat almost anything hands down in the dry but aren't all that good in the rain and won't last you long. .........in the end, it depends what you are looking for.

Thats the key for me.

Oook, so anything that works and is proven time and time again is bandwagon.
Use what works not what's different or "flavor of the month"
Anyway for the OP, you can't go wrong with either tire. They both work very well for their intended purposes. But I say Azenis all the way.

I've used the Dunlop SP9000, their top-of-the-line tire from years ago (since replaced by the SP Sport Maxx). I absolutely HATED them. They didn't grip all that well, and they squealed A LOT.
BTW, to the original poster, I would like to introduce you to a feature found on your computer keyboard. Check it out:

Anyone have any thoughts on the Kumho Ecsta ASX or Kuhmo Solus KH16/KH21? Getting ready to replace the OE michelin mxv4 on my 05 accord at 51,000. This accord is just my drive to work/around town car; so looking for good grip/handling/and tread life above all.
Any suggestions?
Any suggestions?
rio9999, I have driven on both, on different vehicles. My dad's M6 has the ASX, which grip remarkably well for an all season, have lasted a good long time even through a heavy car and heavy right feet.
The Solus we have on the spare car, a volvo 960. theyre comfy, quiet, not particularly confidence inspiring, but thats not a car im inclined to drive aggressively. they arent stand-out tires at all. our set only has ~20k miles on them but theyre wearing pretty well, should have at least another 20k before its time to replace.
between those 2, and assuming you need an all-season as opposed to a summer tire, I would go with the ASX. theyre better in every performance way than the solus, except maybe treadlife, but not far behind there.

Thanks for the opinion. Yeah, on paper, the ASX are rated 420 A A - while the 21's are rated 640 A B. Not sure if that treadlife is really such a big difference... and not sure I can even compare my Michelin mxv4's to either of them (can I?), but both Kuhmos are priced exactly the same.
my 615s lasted about 10k miles with over 400whp so there was alot of spinning involved.. had cuts all the way around the tires from rocks on pavement when 3thrid gear rips loose at 80mph but dam nthat are good tires.. nothing handles like them .. stopping is way better also than my old kumos

Grip and handling are far better with the ASX.
Treadlife may be better with the Solus but IMHO it's not worth it.

i was extremely happy with my Rt's and how they performed, but the 200 treadwear does blow.... i would advise some mudflaps also if you go with the Falken's because they sling dirt and rocks like something serious!!!

Actually, that 200 treadwear figure is highly optimistic. (I suspect they overrate the treadwear because some race series require 200 or higher treadwear ratings on their tires.) The wear on the Azenis RT-615 really ought to be around 100 to make it more realistic when compared with most other makes and models of tires. For example, the SPT has a rating of 320, and it generally lasts roughly three times as long as the RT-615.

Oh ok i got you
, it does seem like the wear would be a lot lower because they were gone before i knew it
