Default Carbon buildup in the throttle body?

So, I switched over to an '05 Odyssey touring and sent it in today for an inspection.

The Honda Dealer (I got it from a Nissan Dealer as it was a trade-in) says that I have "a lot of carbon build-up in/on the throttle body" and they want to clean it out and "flush the injectors."

Could someone explain what exactly that means and if it's something that is necessary and whether I should pay them $120 to do it or if they're fleecing me for something that isn't a big deal?

Thanks

Buy a $4 can of throttle body cleaner and a $4 bottle of injector cleaner and DIY.

Dealerships are the worst place to ever take a car to. They charged my friend $50 labor to change a his valve cover gasket

its called an induction flush. 3m brand got one and Wynn's brand got one. what they do is that they disconnect ur fuel line and pull the fuel pump fuse off. hook up a bottle of cleaning agent and run ur engine with it. one the bottle runs out the car shuts off and ur injectors and ur fue rail are all clean. then they clean ur throttle chamber and ur intake manifold with a special carb cleaner. then they pour ina bottle of fuel line cleaner into the fuel tank. now u have a brand new car. i recommend it but thats because i used to work at a dealership. there have been plenty of tests on the affectiveness of bottles they sell at the stores and does not do anything because the chemical strength needed to clean out the fuel system and injectors would have to add up to gallons if u dilute it into ur tank even if u pour it in at empty. thats why they bypass the fuel tank and hook up the bottle just before the fuel rail and run nly off that.

And when you are done tell us how it dyno's. Oh, wait I thought this was the all-motor thread, not the when should I change my oil thread. My Bad.Allway's trust the dealer, they will never steer you wrong.

wrong section man. This is more so a performance oriented section. Maybe try the suv truck and honda element section i guess since there isnt a space for the odyssey.
