anyone know of a knock-off or cheaper version of this manifold? (for eg)
or is it no recomended?

those are called ITB "independent throttle bodies", most are custom made off of motorcycles with your cars runners and IM flange...search ITB there is so much information on HT about them...upper right hand corner, search, it will show you information and some DIY's GL and welcome to HT.

you can use them in F/I setups, with a pleaum of sorts.

Stock the late model skylines have ITBS.

I'm in the middle of a DIY setup with ITBS using bike parts, search around and you'll find some how tos and whats needed.

I always thought that would be the best setup by far, but also the most expensive since you have to fab the ITBs then fab a manifold around them.
