99' EM1 rattle noise. Any ideas?
Alright, so this noise is pretty intermitant and rarely ever happens. However, today I heard it after I had driven for awhile. The rattling noise happens when I am idleing, but it stops when I press the clutch in. I was thinking that it could be a throttle bearing going bad.
I also get the sound when the A/C is turned on, but when it's off, the noise stops. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Sounds like it could be, same happened with mine, 10 k after a ACT clutch and PP swap. I bet it was installed wrong from Honda, they screwed all else up. However....
I also have a 99 em1, and just reciently got this sort of rattle again, though it is on load. At first I thought it was from the passenger side of the engine compartment. Upon further investigation, I found it was from the shifter itself. And I mean the shifter/linkage. It is conclusively not a sound from the tranny or engine amplified through the shifter. Something needs tightened up on it basically.

Hmmm. I really am lost as of to what it could be. I have a stage 2 exedy clutch which came with the car when I bought it. Maybe it was installed wrong? When I depress the clutch the noise will stop. The noise is rarely ever made though. What part of the shift linkage should I look to see if it needs tightning? Thanks for the post btw.
I just recently got the same squeek/rattle I got a B18A1 with a ITR head boosted to 12lbs. I ran sonme people on Sat and not I got a rattle/squeek between 2100rpm - 3200rpm can anyone help a noob
I am sorry I havent responded for a while, however I fixed it. It was an old loose throw out bearing on the input shaft to the tranny. I removed the tranny and just replaced it. It was like a 40.00 bearing from napa.
