Default d15 with zc pistons

i was told that this set up would not work. i have a b7 with less than 50,000 miles on it. im gonna go through it and put all new seals, gaskets and bearings. from what i see a b7 head is the same as the 88-91 SI head. i was told the b7 rods were not strong enought to hold up to that much compression. using the compression guide from http://www.zealautowerks.com/dseries.html
it should only be around 11:1 or so. will the rods hould up at 7000 rpm's or not?

that websit doesnt work i have been trying to get on it for ever. How did u get one it.

The pistons should fit the rods are diff the d16 and the d15b and d15z1 are the same length and the rest of 1.5 are shorter. I think they will be able to with stand 7k.
u will only have what like 150 hp so i think it will be fine. If it was turbo then no it will all break and melt.. to hot.

P29's in a D15B7 will only bump the compression about .2 bump in compression, not worth the effort.

You know the knology site doesn't have the correct info......right????

Seems they used info that I stated wasn't correct.......so now all D15 compression info is wrong.

Also his formula is not taking in the account for the difference of 1.7mm compression height difference between the PM3 amd P29's, you have to edit the deck height to account for that, I came up with 9.5:1 compression.

Yes, I know a little about measuring pistons........

OEM parts for 13.7:1 compression. 11.7:1 using knology as is, or 13.8 correcting the deck height.

BTW I had input on BOTH calcs, Zealworks was the only one that was kept up to date. I'll get ahold of Katy about it.

.052" "out of the hole" using longer OEM rods.

3mm longer rods, minues 1.7mm deifference in pin location = 1.3mm higher piston location

1.3mm / 25.4 = .051" close enough with simple tools

what is a yes or no?

Why do you wanna raise the compression then run boost?

Get a Z6 or A6 block and be done.

actually i tossed the a6 block in the junk pile. all i wanna know is will the zc pistons work. yes or no. i dont want any body's opinion on getting another block or using different parts. i just wanna know will the zc pistons work in this motor. will they clear the head or will they hit it? will the 1.5 rods hold up to 7000 rpm's?
