Default Newbie: MP3 player compatible headunit???

I'm tired of fumbling through cd's and i need help in choosing a head unit that I can connect a portable MP3 player to.

I have an 04 impala. The system is stock and besides the headunit, i do not plan on anyupgrades. Im not looking for a top of the line headunit. I just want something as good as or better than my stock headunit.

Im looking to spend no more than $200 for the unit.

Any recommendations?

Thanks a lot HT

Please note that in that car, you will need a dash kit, antenna adapter and wiring harness (relocation harness???) which, will put you well over your budget if you choose any good unit.

understood. I'm looking to spend to no more than $200 for the unit itself, not including the essentials for proper installation

Okay... Just wanted to be sure...

I can't tell you how many customers I had that picked out a $150 deck, and they had enough to cover the deck & sales tax, then were pissed off that they couldn't get it installed because they didn't have the $45 for the parts...

Anyways... Since I'm not in the loop anymore on new decks, I'll let FCM or WRX-killer chime in with their recommendations...

However, I've had very good luck in the past with Kenwood.. I've had my current deck for almost 5 years.
