need help, power fc, turbo si wont rev over 4000 rpms
ok so heres the problem i just recently finished drebuilding my engine 1.7L b16a2 w/ greddy turbo kit, power fc, avcr and plx m300. before the rebuild it was teh exact same as it is now except i put the wide band in, took out high flow cat and replaced w/ stock and it was 1.6L and was tuned. so i figure i can rebuild it with a .1L more and tune it from there. so i get it all done it starts up no leaks vac, oil, coolent. ect builds boost, no CELs and all runs a lil rich but wont rev over 4000 rpms. the engine sounds like it want to go higher but just wont even though i got my foot throught the floor. I do have fc-datalogit so i can fully access the ECU and changed teh O2 sensor signal to 5V because of the wideband. i dont know if timing, or restrictive cat could have anything to do with this or if its the wideband or what but any help at all would be much apreaciated. thanks
the setup is:
00si 1.7L
greddy tubro kit @12 psi
stock map sensor
skunk2 im
ITR head
Power FC
AVCR
M300 wide
stock cat
650cc RC- a lil big i know
walbro 255
just giving as much imfo as posible to make it easier. thanks again

check 2 areas on the Power FC and/or datalogit:
Check and make sure that you have the boost kit installed, and that the Boost setting is past. 1.25bar You'll see what it is on "BOOST" portion in "Setting" mode
Check to make sure that your rev limit on the datalogit is to where you want it to BE. On the B16B Power FC, it is defaulted rather low.

the boost is set right and all but the vtec sol thing makes sense becase the sensor got cracked a lil when putting the motor in. thanks for teh help
It sounds to me like the ecu is going into limp mode. A stock Honda map sensor can only read 10.47psi and anything more will throw the car into limp mode. Lower the boost below 10.47 and it will run like a champ. I would upgrade that MAP sensor asap.

If he has the Boost kit that goes with the Power FC, it comes with the upgraded DENSO 3 bar sensor that works IN CONJUNCTION with the stock map sensor, so you use BOTH sensors. Some people have attempted to replace it with a GM 3 bar map sensor, but the calibrations on the Power FC have to be totally changed due to the voltage signal. It comes with a harness that plugs directly into the unit. Power FC is a full standalone system that does not have a LIMP mode like a an OEM based -ECU setup like Hondata or Neptune. What I was referring to was the actual amount of boost that is preset in the "SETTING" option of the Power FC. It is preset to 1.25Bar. You may need to check to see if it needed to be raised. With my Power FCs I found that in order for it to use and independent boost controller, it has to be raised to over 1.4bar.

I dont really know a whole lot about the power fc except that it is a full standalone, but if you put the amount of boost in the preset option to use it as an independant boost controller does the AVCR hes using interfere with that? Also, maybe its a problem with the map sensors. I dont know, bump for an answer.

Not if he sets the Preset boost higher than the original setting. Even changing it up over .5 to 1.0bar should be enough for him to use his AVC-R independently, without interference.

thanks for all the help guys, ive been messing around with it for a while and tehn all of a sudden the CEL cam on so i killed it, then started it back up and it will start for a few seconds then die. i dont know what its doing but how do you get the code off a power fc?
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by b16spaz »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">so you cant get codes from the fc with obd1 scan tool?

No. because those exact codes no longer exist, and don't get "reset". You need something to integrate with the system. Either the Apexi Pro (dealer only) or FC-Datalogit.

ok so i got the boost at .75 bar & 30% duty acros the board on the avcr
and i figured out that every time i turn on the boost kit in teh fc it turns the cel on in just KOEO with it set at 1.5 % 60%, kinda confused
new map sensor ?
