Default 550s big enough for 350+whp?

Just as the title says. Are RC 550s big enough to make over 350hp at the wheels?

They will work from 300-350ish. 350 will probably be pushing them!

I was running 525's at 17psi making 360whp and according to Neptune they were only at 80% duty cycle.

Yes you can use 550cc for 350whp, I had 550cc and made 370whp waaay back in the day, I think they were close to being maxed out and we may have addded fuel pressure to compensate

just go with 750's and call it a day, plenty of improving/breathing room.

Damnit you beat me to the punch, I was gonna edit my post with the same info.

Too often people order injectors and also turbos and basically want to max them out, you gotta realize you will want more later OR at least most people do. So why go with something you will max out now and have to change out later and then lose money on the old injectors cuz now they are used. Go one step bigger on everything that way you can grow into it, that is my .02 cents though

I'm not worried about losing money b/c I got the 550s for a really good price. Once I see how everything runs I might go ahead a buy some 750s....

I find it funny how people are basing this off of HP numbers. What you should really be looking at is peak torque.

550's are just fine for my B16 @ 340whp, but on a 2.0L GSR @ 340whp it would be a different story.

I agree on the 750s (or 880s) though

Running out of fuel while tuning simply sucks for both the tuner & the customer.

It's what we've been posting up for a few years now, when someone asks this question. We use those values as a basic guideline for our customers who buy our injectors. There is plenty of margin built into these values. Here is the full listing...

Flow Rate vs. HP Level
(Flow Rate for each injector,
in a four cylinder setup.)

310cc 200~220whp
370cc 220~280whp
440cc 280~330whp
550cc 330whp~380whp
660cc 380whp~425whp
720cc 425whp~475whp
880cc 475whp~525whp
980cc 525whp~600whp

Thanks from Craig

exactly....

Also, I recommended 750cc just because they are the highest RC that is saturated that I know of.

Always go with a larger injector.... they give you room to grow and keep your duty cycles down.

Didn't we already say that? It has been said several times on this post and throughout the history of Honda Tech

injectors are actually something that you want to go big on if you ever decide to upgrade in the future, alot of people criticize honda people for running way to large of a turbo for the power etc etc whereas the injectors are always good to go bigger on as long as you have a good tuner who can get them to idle well

I repeated it just for you because of the conversation we had a day ago, lol. By the way... 2.25" downpipe FTW!
