in the middle of a swap.....NEED help
im helping my friend with a b16 swap into his crx. we have the 90-93 integra axles and S1 tranny. the problem is, the drivers side axle on the intermediate shaft side seems to have very little movement. i took apart the shaft and the bearings only fit in one way and still has little movement. is this side of the shaft supposed to have little movement or should it move freely like the other side?? the bearings only seem to go in one way.
I am currently doing my swap too. I'm not cuurently putting in the axles though, but i may be able to help you though I have the SiR axles. Are you talking about the bearings in the tranny on the drivers side? Or are you talking about the axle it self?
no no no........on the inside cv joint (intermediate shaft connection), the joint will not move enough to allow the shaft of the axle to go into the fork that connects to the lower arm. the whole joint barely moves side to side or up and down, but the bearings can easily be pulled in and out of the housing. we repacked the joint and put on a new boot and it still does the same thing. do the bearings have a proper location? or do they just go in any of the housing slots?? also, on one of the bearing plates there is a notch, while the other 2 do not.....does this have anything to do with it preventing movement of the joint if these bearings are not in their proper location.

Ehhh? So you're trying to put it inside the fork? You're supposed to pull off the fork and then put in the axle, then put the fork back on overtop the axle... or am I seriously misunderstanding something here??
