FTR, I didnt need to roll mine back, I just had to buy a used one because mine was stolen. But it can very easily be rolled and you would never know.

Assuming the caR checks out legit, $30k is a DEAL. The out the door dealership price of $26,930 in 1997, inflation adjusted comes to $34,890 today!
FYI: This caR was for sale around 6/29/2004 and had 773 miles on it at the time.
BTW, anyone who whines "but it's a 10 year old car" is a douche. Just saying.
You may be able to finance $12k of it, but mostly you'll need cash

I'd buy it, and garage it for 30 years.
It's my goal to do that sometime in the next 5-6 years, I've always wanted a mint ridiculously low mileage '97 or '98 Type-R to just park in my climate controlled garage under a car cover, and look at once in a while.
Call that plan stupid, or call me stupid because the car should go to someone who will appreciate it, blah, blah, blah... But I'm doing that before they become impossible to find in this condition, which will probably start in the next 5-6 years.

Nice car, but I wouldn't want to see what some of the seals in that motor look like. I think that whoever buys the thing is going to have to dump some cash into it. No car can sit for that long without drying out.
If I had $30K laying around, that'd be my down payment on an Elise or Exige rolling chassis
But still, nice clean car!

Worth every penny of $30k, probably more. People need to take Economics 101 and understand real money.

I have had the same thoughts, but I wants to store mine in the family room/loft/garage kinda thing... This way I can always keep an eye on it and makes for a great converstational peice...
