Hotness: Electric Bike---The Enertia.

If pricing on these got down to 4-5k i'd definately rock one for daily driving.
As an Oregonian I am not surprised too see that someone came up with this idea, there are some guys who drag race electric cars at PIR. There was an article about that in Car and Driver. However I'd like to see a review on how this thing would do on I-84 or I-5 at 70 mph. Cruising downtown in the Pearl District (doesn't live up to the name) where the speed limit is 25 isn't a very good test. I can see lots of downtown hipsters trading in the scooters and trying to look cool by Starbucks or bar with that micro brew or more likely PBR.

It's WAY LESS than you'd need for a day. My mileage halves when I go to the track. Read, also, that it's 50 miles at 40% capacity. At 100% assume less than 25 miles... and even less at full tilt at the track.
... and electrical outlets aren't all over the place at all tracks, either.
As far as instant maximum toruqe, that's the way all electric motors are. They have no torque or horsepower curves to speak of - the lines are flat throughout the operational range of the motor.

Weak, Seen the E1's based here in the Bay Area? Took a stock r1, removed everything that makes it run, and replaced it with batteries. Its a bit lighter. and is quiet. Looks a bit better then that, but like this pretty expensive.
