So I just bought my 2001 Prelude SH about two months ago. I had a cold air intake installed on Friday, as well as got my oil changed and upgraded to full synthetic (I was running the regular crap before). On Sunday, after driving around for two days, my CEL and ATTS light came on exactly at the same time. I stopped the car and checked the oil and it was totally empty and everything in there was dark and sludgy. I took my car back to the oil change place and they said "oops it looks like we didn't add enough oil and also didn't rinse after we changed out the oil." The lights are still on, although my car seems to run just fine. I wonder if this could have something to do with the intake, and my ECU hasn't adjusted to the new air flow? I tried to check the codes but cannot find the right connector under my glove compartment...Any ideas about what could be causing this? Or help, advice in general?

Also, I'm planning on getting a greddy EVo2 exhaust next week, but was wondering if it's really worth the $500?

i dont think your new intake would be the cause of the CEL but if you think it is, take of the battery for a few minutes and that would reset the ecu. and as for the ATTS light coming on, its because everytime your CEL comes on the ATTS should come on as well even though nothing is wrong with it.

as for the greddy evo2, use the search.

 

the intake is not causing an engine light unless you dont have it hooked up correctly... as far as the "oops we didn't put enough oil in your car..." i would make them pull the engine code and check and fix wats wrong with the light.... the ATTS light is more than likely coming on due to somthing in the ATTS unit like a sensor being loose or broken... it will just disable the ATTS function...(my light is on, has been for a while)

 

Without knowing the code it is hard to tell. If you want it checked ut you can go to Autozone or a similar store. They are usually helpful and can use the OBD scan tool to read the code easily. Also FYI ATTS light always comes on when CEL is on.

For exhaust I would say

It will be louder
It may give you an extra HP or 2
It will make your car stand out more

It is all a matter of what you want.

 

i would upgrade when your stock exhaust starts to break down in a year or two. and change your own oil next time.

the connector is located on the passenger side near the center console near the mat

 

my CEL and ATTS is also on. if u want to know the code just go to autozone and check it out, i do it all the time. they give you the diagnostic test so u can plug it in yourself, its free. the plug is on the passenger side on the bottom left, on the center consel. looks like a little door covered in carpet, and the plug is right there. takes like 2 minutes. and they will also tell you what the code means. my light is on because of a vaccum solenoid, it turns on one day when i was going about 145mph. i havent done anything about it yet
