Default Dropping my hatch

i need to drop my hatch today...its a 1991 dx. i bought some used R1 coilovers for 60 bucks but i have no idea how to put them on...i want to learn myself rather than going somewhere to put it on for me. How do i put them on, do i need scales to measure the amount of weight on each wheel? etc....?

here ya go
Take 17mm Lower Control bolt off.
14mm Uper Cobtrol arm bolt off. Take the 2 14mm top strut bolts off. Slide the sturt out. Compress the spring. Take off the spring keep the bump stops on etc..put coil overs on. Reverse order. On the back....
Take the lower sturt bolt off, then the top 2 14mm . Do same as on the top with spring. Short but simple.

make sure you know what you are doing before you start because alot of times the bolt will be rusted and break and then you start to run into problems.......good luck

oh yeah you will need to rent a spring compressor. You can get them from kragen or pep boys, etc. they're like 60 bucks and than you get it back when you bring back the spring compressor. All it is is some big *** bolts with some u-bolts attached to it. YOu could always just pay a shop like 80 to do it and ask them if they'd allow you to watch. That is if you want to take the lazy mans way. you don't need to put scales under the wheels unless you need a totall balanced ride like for auto X or omething like that. just count the threads and make sure there the same all around. that should be fine.

just get a couple experienced friends to give you a hand, its really not that bad. And the spring compressor can make life easier but its not really necessary if you're putting on adjustable coilovers like it sounds you are. When taking the spring off the old shock just lay it on the floor, put your foot on the hat of the assembly, aim the bottom of the shock at the neighbors pesky cat, take off the hat with the impact and the shock will likely slide across the floor for a couple feet or so.... dont try this if you weigh 80lbs though..
good luck,
K.

don't listen to this guy. Please get a spring compressor if you miss taht pesky cat and hit someone else's kid or car or something... well lets just say bad things happen. if you had a friend like that guy that had experience doing it than have him do it. but just rent the stupid tool. it only costs the gas to go get it.
