Default HELP.. DIY headlight cleaning

Well I followed the DIY "how to clean your headlights" at the top of the Appearance/Cosmetics page and well its not turning out very good at all. Im working with 99 civic headlights. They were pretty ugly and oxidized and cloudy before but now they are just cloudy with a sanding pattern to it. I used Meguirs plastic polish (lots of it lol).. and it just never seemed to remove the cloudiness the sanding made. I sanded with 1500 and 2000 grit.. and 600 on some spots that were really bad. Should I try to polish more?

Did you wetsand them? Shouldn't have made much cloudiness if you wetsanded it. The DIY also says to wipe away the residue left from sanding with a towel before you apply the plastic restore-er.

Did you wetsand in succession? Kind of a silly question, i know, but if you jus wetsand some parts with 2000 and other parts with 600 without goin back over the 600 part with 1000 1500 then 2000, you will never get rid of the scratches

Also, as was said before, did you get enough water goin and wetsand em? Dry 2000 grit isnt anywhere near as effective as wet 2000 grit

what he said.. the polish isnt ment to remove scratches of 600 grit.. so your gonna have to do what he said and go over it with 1000-2000 then try it again. gl
