what does this do: cable-to-hydraulic conversion???
allows civics and integra's with cable shift linkage to convert to rod linkage.
wont work for a lude without some serious modding.

i think they are talking about the hydro trans as in hydraulicly controlled slave cylinder. Whereas some older cars use linkage to disengage the clutch.
blake i think your thinking of cable linkage for gear selection vs rod linkage that civics and tegs use.

Except that Civics and Tegs didn't come with cable shift linkages.

Its to convert a cable CLUTCH to a hydro clutch.
I have a b16 crx.
and luckly, my b16 came with a cable clutch trans.
the older b16's where cable clutch.
the newer B serries, TRANSMISSIONS, where converted to a hydro clutch.
You can put a type R motor onto a old b16 cable trans, if you wanted.
If not, and wanted to keep the ITR trans, and wanted to put it in a cable clutch car.
You would have to use this conversion..
Which is new, because the ones ive seen, just use levers, and adapter to adapt the cable to the release fork.
This one actually uses a hydro slave cylinder.

whats the advantage/disadvantage of using a hydraulic clutch compared to a cable clutch?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Hydros dont need adjustment. Cable you have to adjust the cable tighter occasionally.
Hydros can handle a more heavy duty clutch with out your leg falling off.
New transmissions are hydros
newer=better....usually....
