d16z6 swap, need help
i just swaped a d16z6 into my 90 crx si. i was hooking all the wires up and i have a couple extra plugs on the wire harness and on the intake manifold. is it normal not to use all the plugs? i got the wire conversion from ry wire for the v tec and the dizzy. any help would be great
Pictures please
Or describe which plugs aren't plugged in on the intake manifold.
Depending on which TB you used, you may have use the MAP on the EG TB, if it isn't a TB mounted MAP, you keep the one on your firewall.
But without more information, I can't really help you.

its a black sensor on the top of the intake manifold by the throtle body and i also have a plug on the thermo thats not hooked up. i have 2 plugs on the stock wire harness that arnt used, they were attached to the block of the d16a6. car is turning over but i dont think its getting a spark. i checked all the grounds and fuses.

You have a map on your firewall from your d16a6...find the wire that plugs into it "next to the purge solenoid valve". Remove it and extend the wires and connect it to your TB mounted map. I need to see a picture of the other one.
but if you say it was hooked up on the a6 then just plug it in here.

thanks for all the info. gonna swap out the im tonight because i know what plugs go where and it has 1 less plug so i will be ablke to hook them all up. thanks again.. ill let you know how it goes
yep most people have to extend the map, just cut it in a clear spot add some wire...solder it and heatshrink, then you can remove the whole bracket and just relocate you Purge solenoid valve
looks nice

for checking everything...
If I remember correctly your map will have 3 wires coming from it. It should be on the firewall, favoring the passenger side, compared to the purge solenoid valve which is in the brakcet but on the right "if you are looking into the bay". If you want to remove the bracket then just get the purge solenoid valve off the bracket and put it in a secure place with one vacuum line going to it. Take the plug off the old map and transfer it your new map you don't need any vacuum lines to your old map or anything.
Cliffs: remove bracket
Single Vacuum line to PSV
Dissconnect old map plug and place it on TB mounted map
done
LOL and now is time for your 3 pt strut tower bar.
