Throttle body/cable reinstall????? Honda CRX Si
Hi,
Well I was having tons of idling issues after my car set up for a year, so I removed the throttle body and took apart the throttle cable linkage. I got it all back together for what seems like the right way except the spring that goes on linkage doesnt seem to want to go back right. I have it hooked in what seems to be the right spots cept its not centered. Its kinda pushed to one side. Not sure if this is causing my problem but now my idle doesnt come down when i come to a stop unless i put my foot under the pedal and pull it back. I greased the S@#% out of the spring and linkage and still cant get it come back fully when throttle isnt engaged. I need a schematic of the throttle body linkage assembly so i can see if i have it right. I have both haynes and chilton manuals but neither have what i need. I have a 90 honda crx 1.6 btw, Any help would appreciated.
Thx
John

You might need to wrap the spring around again.
And the throttle cable needs a little play like is stated in the manual.

Hi,
the spring has plenty of tension on it imo, just if u look at it from the passanger side fender u can see its pushed over to one side like its not setting right. Messed with it for hours trying to get to set evenly around the shaft but doesnt want to.
As for my cable it has plenty of slack in it, but gonna adjust it further when wife gets home, need an assistant to open it up while i adjust it. Thx for info though. HOnestly a schematic would be best so i know i have installed correctly. I might even go to honda(slits wrist) and buy a new spring for it.
