Default Cluth cable HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, today I got in the car and started it but when I went to put the car in gear and let go of the clutch it didn't come back up hard. It was soft like the cable wasn't pulling itself back. The car is in gear but the clutch is not kicking in? Could my clutch be done or my cable just bad? When I go to push down of the cable (connected to the plate on the tranny the clutch ingages) NEED HELP ASAP

If you can get somebody to help you, have them depress the pedal while you watch the release arm on the outside of the transmission. If the release arm doesn't lift when the pedal is depressed, then the cable is broken or dislodged. You also may just need to adjust the cable.

He has a cable transmission. The only master cylinder in that vehicle is for the braking system.

a friend just told me that it's either the clutch or pressure plate that is bad! He said the arm to the tranny isn't going back down once the cable pulls the arm up. True?
