Default bored post - 95 gsr, jdm front, turbo - some pics, mini mod list, mini timeline.

before i start ... excuse the crappy photography. I don't know anyone in the PA area that's a good photographer so these were done at random with a canon powershot A95.

If anyone's local and would like to take some pics someday, PM me.

... alright fellas - on with the show. Comments are welcome ... both good and bad.

------

When I first bought the car... jackson racing supercharged

First day out of the paint booth.

Shortly after, I pulled the blower put in a built shortblock and turbo'd it. Made 409 whp/280 tq on 93 pump @ 16psi with a 57 trim .63 housing. For unknown reasons it cracked ringlands in all 4 ... so it sat for a bit, and i rebuilt it... and took it up for a retune. Made 365/260 on 93 @ 14psi with the same turbo. Shortly after, #4 took a crap and cracked a ringland as well. I almost gave up... it was costing me too much to keep fixing. So it sat like this for a while ...

After talking to some of my friends, parting out some of my stuff and finally rethinking the whole thing... i picked up a stock b16 shortblock, a gt30r and had plans to rebuild ... and in the mean time, picked up some new parts for my built motor that should be going in next spring or whenever i get bored with this motor.

Shortly after getting it running again and inspected, i stopped home to get some money to go see a movie, and on the way to the theatre, slid on some black ice and hit an oncoming car. I rarely drive this car in anything but summer months, but was so excited to drive it after so long i figured i'd take it since the roads looked bare. Either way ... this happened... and then it started snowing...

Here's the other car ... barely a scratch.

Soooooo once again, the car had to sit But i took the time to pick up a few new parts and took it back to the body shop.

Started on a quick engine-in rattle can enginebay spray just to tie me over til this winter when i pull it, do a wiring cleanup and color match the bay.

annnnnd out of paint again for the last time (hopefully)

The night i picked the car up, reconstruction began and the interior was reinstalled, and some minor things were finished up. The morning after, I drove for a retune... it made 272 whp/175 tq... making 3psi off the wastegate spring until 6500rpm and creeping to ~9psi. The power was made by 7800 rpm, where the driver left off for whatever reason each time ... but the car is revved to ~9000 and pulls the whole way.

about 2 months later (or a month ago, however you look at it)... my car was broken into. Not much was stolen, but enough to be yet another hassle in this car's life. Boost guage, wideband and cd player got jacked ... for thieves. Either way ... luckily, insurance covered the theft and all three have been replaced (just haven't got around to installing the wideband)... and here's how she sits today (but rolling on steeles for the rest of the summer until i finally redo suspension and figure out what kind of real-deal wheels i'm buying .. no more rotas for me

gotta represent

thanks guys. Luck has definately been shitty - but if my built motor holds up half as well as my stockblock is, then i'll be having lots of fun next summer.

I remember what 400+ whp is like, and i want it back!

yea man - it is hard. .. i can see certain spots where it's not perfect ... but for the most part it was a great color change. if i had to do it again though, i would have either kept it red or stripped it bare and popped the windows.

turboing with na cams. lower boost pressure to make the same power

i know, i know ... but those moldings saved my *** from some massive dings plenty of times. That alone is reason enough to keep em.

thanks for the compliments guys

forgot to mention ... if anyone can help me wire up the HID - it'd be appreciated. The new front end has a different ballast box than my last one ... before there was a blue plug that went from the original headlight harness into the box .. now there's no place for the blue plug. Would cutting the plug and hardwiring the into the right pin on the brown plug for the headlights do the trick? I hate wiring with a passion, and i'm kind of scared to try it hah.
