Cel is coming on (code22) when hitting vtec, i just did an oil change and there are no visable leaks.. the block was painted blue by previous owner who rebuilt it.. so i would see a leak if there was one. it doesnt burn oil either. also around 4.5k it throws out a little grayish smoke is that normal?

U may want to clean clean the vtec gasket. It may have a little debre or dirt which may block a little oil blockage. Also restart the ECU.

 

new filters from Honda I believe run about $25 for the spool valve filter/gasket and the top gasket.

 

should i take the vtec silinoid apart and clean it ? i took it off the head when i replaced the intake mani gasket. and cleaned it a bit but i never took it apart
