I guess I got too much torque.. bummer.
my brother with b18c5 in his 00 hatch had his mount rip off all the way and the one mounted in front of tranny ripped off with some of tranny. (But no oil leaks) I think its cuz of his stage 4 clutch.

Thats my hope, but its kind of bent, so unless that can be fixed then im going to have to buy a new one. And if i have to buy a new one, i want it to be aftermarket and better so this wont happen again.
and my guess as to why this happened: 163TQ, innovative solid race mounts, and act stage 3 clutch, and pressure plate

your stock mounts should take 163ft lbs pretty easily. I mean if everything is holding together in my car pretty well, launching at 8200 with slicks...then the power isn't what killed your motor mount.
get you some solid mounts and call it a day.

They don't make aftermarket parts of the unibody, just the actual motor mounts that bolt in. Just have the welder make a new one out of thick sheet metal if you feel the need to.

I've already got solid motor mounts. I said it in the post above; innovative track solid mounts. The chassis had 170k on it, so its seen a lot of action on those weld spots.

your guess would be wrong. i have made 206 tq to the wheels and never had any problems tearing mounts away from the unibody. its nothing to do w/ the power of the motor or the clutch.
when you say you have solid race mounts, do you mean solid metal or solid eurothane. true race mounts are made of solid metal and are mostly for use in true race cars. solid eurothane mounts are for use in any car and shouldnt cause this unless there is a problem somewhere. check all of your mounts and make sure everything is installed correctly and nothing is broken anywhere else causing to much strain on that mount.
if you are using solid metal mounts, get rid of them if your driving around on the street everyday. thats not what theyre for.
r you sure you werent in an accident that caused this
btw, stock jdm h22's can make 160-165 wtq and you dont see them tearing their stock mounts over in japan.

no, it was because it wasnt installed properly or because of cheap ebay parts.
a strong clutch will cause other parts of the motor or driveline to break before the car itself would ever break.

Damn!Nobody that i'm aware of makes any honda aftermarket mount bracket. Tyler, you can purchase a new oem manual mount bracket from majestic honda for ~$40. Or repair that one and brace it.
Looks like I will be reinforcing that bastard when i weld my manual mount on. I will be using innovative mounts also.
Your spot welds went pop, looks like a drill bit was there

Reinforcement should be added here

Spot welds underneath

The back
it could have been bad spot welds, rust, torque and bad mounts combined. if you live near the ocean, then the salty air could have eaten any exposed metal. remember, you are messing with an older car so anything can happen. just beat it back down and weld it up.
