Your favorite RSX gear change
My favorite is the 6th to 4th shift- once your right hand is in position, all it takes is a flick of the wrist to go from 6th to 4th. It happens so quickly and so smoothly, I could swear the trans has ESP or something. It's a beautiful thing.
My next favorite is the 5th to 3rd shift- generally this occurs when I am passing some moron driving 60 mph in the fast lane in the 70 mph zone- I shift from 6th to 5th to move things on a little bit- then the moron (generally a fat *** in a giant SUV) starts to speed up as I am passing on the right because he won't get out of the way- it's intoxicating to match revs and drop the shifer into 3rd- the K20 sounds awesome when you nail 6K rpm's on the interstate- in lower gears you just accelerate out of the rev range and have to change gears too fast. At higher speeds it takes a little longer to wind out, so you get to enjoy the sound of the engine.
Anyway, 3rd runs up to about 85 mph- the tach blasts to 8300 rpms (yes, I realize that, like all Hondas, the tach is a little optimistic) and the SUV porko is left behind- the speed of the RSX is startling. The lovely sound of the engine is distracting, and you have to remind yourself to shift before you hit the rev limiter- 500 more rpms would be OK with me. The car has lept from 65 to 90 like a rocket, and it takes a few seconds to cool your adrenaline down- at this point the car is begging to be driven even harder, into 4th gear (redline=115mph) and beyond.
Oh yeah, the transmission snicks from 5th to 3rd without a second thought- as if the trans was anticipating your next move. The clutch engages instantaneously, making the shift orgasmic. Unless you have an S2k, you should really be jealous.

thats true,..but tell me this,..does your car Shift Shitty when you have the AC on,..its weird,.never has it done it in any other car,.but the rev's like drop real quick for some reason,.and the car jumps into gear,..I really don't like it,.but i very rarley drive w/ AC on anyway.@least It seem like it drops to like Stall out range,.and then kicks back when you gas it,..I hate it. Thats one thing that feels really weird on it.

My fav shift is from 5 -> 4th

Favorite shift is from 4th ---> 2nd. Hard pull on the car and gets the car hauling. I usually attempt this at 33oo rpm's and it nails it at 77oo rpms. Its a really addicting gear so use it wisely. On the freeway its a 6th ----> 3rd, but not at a high rpm hehe. But for the most part its a 6th---> 4th downshift and boom. hehe Oh well have fun and becaeful. Good luck.

Apparently the ESP of going into 4th gear occasionally lapses... at least, it did for that kid who slapped it into 2nd instead of 4th
