Hey guys, so I read up on a few of these posts I don't know if I didn't understand it or I just didn't see anything that pertains to my situation.

My gf's 95 ex 2dr coupe uses up radiator fluid REALLY FAST. Therefore the car starts heating up quickly. The radiator pulls the liquid out of the reservoir a lot. we just filled up the reservoir not too long ago (3-4 weeks) and it has to be filled again. not normal, my 03 civic never does this.

Any ideas of what's going on?

It must be leaking somewhere. Check all hoses for pin-hole rips, tears, etc... as well as check the hose end connections, make sure the radiator drain wing nut is tightened down, double-check all the places that radiator fluid flows.

 

Is there any coolant in the oil? Have you replaced anything on the car latley that pertains to the cooling system?

 

Hows the car running? Any white smoke? Could be signs of a bad head gasket.

 

I would think that his GF would mention something like this, but IDK for sure.

Id hope so, but he mentioned in the title there were no drips. I suggest to keep looking for a leak somewhere. Coolant is either leaking or burning, it doesnt just disappear

 

I would check head gasket make sure its not mixing in the oil

 

The radiator was changed because the one she had when she got the car had a hole in it. didn't replace anything but radiator.

no white smoke, car seems to run good.

She does say that after driving the car does smell funny like something is burning.

I can check these. should I have the car on while i do this?
how do i check if it's mixing with oil?

 

open your oil cap, if it's milky its mixing with oil. is it auto tranny? if so, the tranny fluid is cooled via the radiator, could be going there.

 

i doubt u have a major problem, sounds like a coolant leak as stated above. By the way radiator fluid is called anti-freeze, or coolant. check all your coolant hose connections including heater hoses, the 5/8" rubber hoses going into the firewall. use a flashlight and mirror if need be.

 

Oh ok. I don't think it's mixing, i've done an oil change on this car atleast once and the oil looks clean of fluid then. This is probably a leak then. I'll check the hoses. Have any pictures of the pipe for the firewall?
