question about removing oil pan off a GSR
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post, so I hope I'm not out of line in any way
I have a question about removing the oil pan off a '96 GSR. I did a search on oil pans and came up with lots of topic, but unfortunately, none of them seem to answer my question. My question is do I have to remove the exhaust pipe A in order to remove the oil pan?
I tried to lossen the bolts and nuts that bind the cat. converter to the exhaust pipe A, but they won't budge since they have basically rusted into a solid piece
Could I just remove all the oil pan bolts and slide the oil pan out, or will the baffle plate be in the way?
Thanks!!

The oil pickup will not allow you to get the pan off without removing the header/manifold.
I'd get some penetrating oil and soak the rusted bolts. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply eh-D,
I was afraid of that. I noticed that my oil gasket started leaking quite a bit a while ago when I was changing my oil. I also noticed that almost all of the oil pan bolts were very loose.
so after I tighten them (all but the two behind the flywheel cover) to the torque settings, the leakage was pretty much gone (although very little oil seem to come out from the area where the the flywheel cover is).
Maybe the two bolts behind the cover is a bit loose. Hopefully if I tighten them that'll end the leak. If not, I'll take another wack at those rusted bolts. Thanks again for the info.!
