New $50 Million road course outside NYC
Posted this in the RR forum as well, figured some NE ITR guys might be interested here. Ive sent the owner an email inquiring about track rental for club races and HPDE.
~1.5hrs from NYC. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but its been in the works for some time now and supposed to be ready for next summer. And its only 15 min from my house so Im excited.

Here is the exclusive club that apparently runs the track with contact info http://www.driveandrace.com/
As of right now, it appears to only be a private track for some of the local millionaires to stretch their legs in their super cars. But my hope is that someone can pull some strings with the owners and rent the track out to clubs in the Northeast so we can all share and roll a few super cars
EXPO 8 yo!!!

Wow.... 3.7 miles! I wonder how premiere this track and investors/members will still think it is should it ever be opened up to the public. Some people have far too much money.

VIR might be > *** but this could be a VIR V.2 right next to my house
I would think, being that those guys are money makers, they would be interested in renting out the track to clubs and organizations as I assume they would make a profit from renting the track.

That's pretty sweet, but I doubt it'll ever open to the public or clubs for this reason...
"For the chump change of $100,000 and a $7,500 annual fee, the members of The Drive & Race Club will gain a pass to race anytime."
Some rich guy who drops that kind of money isn't going to want to share the track with some noisy *** Honduhs
Would be nice though
Would be funny if we could collectively sponsor a race caR to get in, show up those fat boats

Not exactly "outside NYC", since it's pretty close to Pennsylvania. Sort of halfway between Scranton PA and Poughkeepsie NY, just north of Port Jervis where NY, NJ, and PA all meet.

Actually, that club is very similar, in structure as well as configuration, to a membership type racetrack in Joliet, near Chicago, called Autobahn Country Club. And yes, they rent their track out to some of the marque clubs (usually renting out one course while the other course is available to members). They'll take anybody's money. And a lot of it, too; rental rates are fairly expensive.

Anything around an hour from NYC is considered outside NYC. Outside of NYC also includes being outside all the **** that surrounds NYC like westchester and bergen counties.
Anyway I hope they are willing to rent.

read about this last month or so, it was actually featured in "Westchester" magazine. I'll just add it to the growing list of other track projects that sound well planned and funded and may even break ground but have to come a long way till they are actually finished and functional.

It's more than an hour from the city. Maybe an hour and a half, hour twenty if you're hauling, assuming it's not rush hour.
I've been up there; it's not too far from the Acura dealer in Middletown, where I had some service done on my NSX years ago, on a multi-track trip going from the Glen to the late Bridgehampton.

Then I live outside of NYC.

I'm sure they will (although they may limit it to established, incorporated clubs).
The bigger question regarding similar planned tracks is whether they get financed, approved, built, and (as in the case of a certain track we know in Arizona) not shut down.

Some people really have way to much money on their hands. And they're all greedy bastards too.
I doubt they even know what its like to be so called "middle class".. I sure as hell know what its like to be rich though, anything you want at anytime. And a 50 million dollar race track
Itd be nice. But that price is just ridiculous.
