Paint Fading
I might be buying a car with sponsor vinyl's on it. Will there be any residue or paint fade behind the vinyls. Don't they peel off pretty easily.
Thanks
P.S.This isn't exactly technical but this forum gets more traffic than appearance does.

Depends on the age/quality/condition of the present paint, as well as however long those vinyls have been on there. Also, are these full show vinyls, or just a rollcall style stack of stickers? Either way, the paint could probably be salvaged with some polish and/or wax application.
Good luck, and also, you could get some good advice in the paint/body section.

It shouldn't go in A/C either. It should go in Paint & Body.
There might be residue behind it, but I'm not sure. If there is, Goo Gone and a hair dryer should remove it pretty easily.
If anything, usually the exposed paint would look more faded than the covered paint. A good polish should get rid of at least some of that though since the fading will mostly be oxidation anyway. A glaze over that will help the paint appear richer and then a wax over that will protect the work you just did and the paint.
