Default can't get brake piston to push in (help!)

Okay, so it's been 4 years since I replaced the rear brake pads on my 99 2.3 EX. I got done removing the rear pads for another replacement but cannot get the piston to push back into the caliper in order to slide the new pads over the rotor. 4 years ago I recall simply using a C clamp to push the piston back and then sliding the caliper back over the rotor.

I tried banging the piston with a hammer and using a C clamp but to no avail. Please help!

Rear caliper pistons are turned back in. You can use needle nose pliers, big screw driver, even the brake pad to put in the slots to turn back in. They also sell brake tools that works with a rachet, to turn it back in.

I don't know what you have, rear drum brake or dish brake, if its drum then you have to turn the brake piston then it'll go in, else if you have dish brake then use the c-clam...

now either case if you can't get the piston to go in loose that bleeding screw a bit, now for sure it'll go in...

The front disc brake are pushed back in, with tools such as a C-clamp. Rear disc brakes are turned backed in on Hondas.

Yep, I had forgotten about turning the piston back in. Thank you all so much! The first one I did turned back in without too much effort, but I had to bleed a little bit of the brake line to get the 2nd one to turn.

MANY THANKS, it feels great to have the new brakes in (bendix)!
