Default Bench Drag Racing...point out my errors please about NA vs. Boost

I got into an argument in another forum (where a lot of non-honda owners and non FWD guys go to) about this scenario:

2 cars, given all things equal (weight, street tires, base motor, street cars), both pushing say 250 whp. One is boost and the other is NA.

I'd say that on street tires, the NA car has the better chance of beating the boosted car only because it will launch quicker off the line. Power delivery is more linear on the NA and easier to control. The boosted car won't launch as quickly as the NA because it will be fighting for traction for the first few feet (or gears). The car on boost however will have the opportunity to catch up on top end.

I'm basing this on what I've seen on both the tracks and the streets when NA and boosted cars line up. It ens up being a race about who gets grip first.

Am I looking at it wrong?

Let the smart asses flame. I'm just basing this on what I've seen myself, plus my experiences driving cars both on boost and NA.

I just wanted to know why it was such a hard sell with the non-honda and non-FWD crowd.

One of the toyota guys was even making fun of the honda guys running GT ball bearing turbos, calling them victims of marketing and spending on expensive parts that have poor ROI power wise.

it is hard to convince anyone that doesn't like honda's to say anything postive about a honda -- just the nature of the beast -- some people just don't understand and are too closed minded to even consider things

it seems as if the honda performance crowd seems to have pretty open minds in most situations of performance vehicles -- if a car is fast, then it is fast and i can appreciate it and learn from it

A lot of guys are still stuck with the mentality that the guy with the most HP wins. And building anything that involved 4 cylinders is a waste of time...unless you go boost.

WTF

Just to put my 2 cents in I would have to say it would be a good race. Depending on the weight both cars should be hitting 12's to low 13's
