Default vandalized

i took my car down to the shop to have some work done on it after i lowered it and get an alignment and stuff and the shop left it sitting outside last night and someone decided to throw a rock thru my back window. it took them three tries to break it out. luckily they didnt steal anythign since i have about $3000 worht of stereo equipment. im just not sure what the point in breaking my window out was tho. so now im out another 500 bucks for my deductable to replace a 700 rear window

Damn, that's **** mate. It's a sad truth that some people are just c*nts and like to damage things for no reason, probably because they are jealous and can't have it themselves. In England that happens a LOT - yobs and thugs vandalising things just for a laugh.

$500 excess for a $700 screen? Have you actually asked your insurance company if that is the case? When i had to replace a screen on an old car i only had to pay the first £50 as excess (that figure is different for any other accident/damage and only applies to glass). That is common over here because glass is a common thing to get broken or damaged.

**** happens man... I had my car at the Honda dealer to get the head gasket fixed under warranty. They had it out in the parking lot for a week awaiting the parts and head to return from being machined. They fixed it all up and called me on the Thursday to let me know it was finished. Friday morning the car was on blocks, rims stolen, stereo stolen, and paint all keyed up. Since the car was in a "public parking lot" Honda was not liable for the damage. Over $6000 in theft/damage.

You should threaten the shop with a lawsuit and follow through if they won't pay. You might be able to do this in small claims court (or a similar mechanism if your state doesn't have small claims courts) without a lawyer.

the teins are great. i love em.

i could take them to court if i wanted to my dad is a lawyer. but ive always done alot of work with this shop and theyve always treated me right. like giving me free stuff and doing things for a discount so id rather not make a huge deal out of it.

the cops think that my ex girlfriend probably did it because she already pled guilty to a domestic violence charge and has vandalized my house in the past. hopefully they'll be able to get some proof and take care fo the situation.
