yea so damn u need a kit??? i thought it was just remove the belt, pump and thats it am i wrong? damn i dont wanna go thru a mission to remove my ps but i'll pm him anyways

Yes, you cant just remove the pump, manuel racks and P/S racks are a lil diff. If you remove the P/S without changing the rack, it will eventually rust out and break.

Yea, unfortunatly
If you want just the feel, best you can do is remove the belt for the P/S.
But as soon as you remove the pump or open up the system to the outside, it will cause it to rust up and break down over time.
Best thing you can do is just leave it for now and wait to get a manuel rack.

oh so yea thats what i'll do just remove the belt then it will help a little at least and will it brake anything... cuz all i think of when i say breaking or removing belts is timing belt and it sounds bad lol so its safe to just remove the ps belt right?

No it wont break anything, the belt is alone, it just runs off the crank pulley. My only concern is what the fluid will do after months of just sitting in the system, not being pumped around. Could that possibly cause corrosion,or someting worse? Maybe someone can confirim this.

Technically, yes, you could. But you would have to keep the system itself in, and sealed from the outside until you get your hands on a manuel rack.

Actually..."technically" no, you cant. The rack needs lubrication...
Do not drain it....
Removing the belt actually makes it harder to turn (significantly) than just a regular manual rack, since youre fighting a pressurized system with fluid, as well as the weight of the car.
(manuel is a name -> manual)

Like I said, removing the belt alone makes it significantly harder to turn than just a manual rack would be. If you want to do it, be my guest, but I dont really recommend it.
Not that its hard to remove and put back on....just try that for a bit. You'll see what I mean PDQ

lol yea i work 7 days a week 2 jobs and then school and no money to show 4 it lol but thats a personal problem so i wouldnt say im lazy but my schedule kind of has that effect of making me want to take the easy way out of things

Just go to the junkyard and get a clutch resevoir. Drill some small holes in the lid to vent it. Go buy some hose and some vacuum T's. Then you'll need a fitting to screw into the rack to accept the hose. If you do a search you can find the post where padawan admitted the size of the fitting.
You actually gravity drain the rack and then hook up your hoses. As long as you don't force the fluid out by turning the wheel with the hoses disconnected, you'll have enough fluid for lubrication.
I had this setup for about a year but finally just swapped to a manual rack. It's lighter, cleaner, and easier to turn (I have wide sticky tires and a small diameter steering wheel).
