ill be heading down to wilmington first, and then heading over to raleigh towards the end of the week. any suggestions on where to go in wilmington or stay? we havent booked the hotel yet.

we (gf and i) will probably go to the beach and such, which beach is decent? looking for something with some nice waves...also good places to eat and chill out.

Just keep heading south lol... Myrtle beach isn't too much further. If you get ballsey stop by my neck of the woods... hilton head island, SC if you want nice beaches and nice nightlife. Ton of bars.

 

well we were going to go to raleigh first, but figured we can drive back in one shot from raleigh compared to wilmington. we can book a hotel in 2 secs. im looking towards the hampton inn since i liked it there in wooooosster, ma...

but i like to just go and wing it, that's how i roll...

 

you would only be addding 1-1/2 hrs. from wilmington to I-95 junction....

 

i suppose, but driving 9 hours at once would be a little easier than almost 11...

Surf in NC is almost always better than SC.
Myrtle beach is trash, and Hilton head is snobby...but the beaches are pretty.
If you were gonna drive THAT far I'd go to Charleston instead.

Good luck and have fun on your trip. I don't plan on leaving Raleigh for a while but I will say that if I move anywhere else in NC it would be Wilmington then probably Charlotte as far as quality of live is concerned.

As for dining... One place on Wrightsville Beach that destroys everything else:

22 North.

Best food on the beach, hands down.
