If I remove the a/c compressor and the radiator part of the a/c system (don't know the name) will it cause any damage to the system if I want to put it back on in the future?
I heard that if you remove the compressor or have an exposed a/c line that it would dry out something and you need to get another part (forgot what that was, I think evaporator). Is this true?
Or can I just remove those two items and maybe the lines in the engine bay and be safe with putting it back on in the future and recharging the system?
I necessary for me to put my turbo on. TIA

yes u cant remove them
u have to be very careful so u dont bend or cut any of the metal since they are aluminum and they can do leaks,....
u can take it out, then put it back in, do vacuum and recharge it with freon....

my ac worked both time i took it out and put it back in but don't get frustrated when putting it back in. take your time and don't crossthread anything. it's a bitch to fix. i ended up just tightening the hell out of one joint and my system only held freon for 3 months. Also the o rings cann dry out and finding the right size is a little hard. i got new rings at the local autoparts store but i don't think they held as good. just be careful
To save the life of your compressor, especially if you live in humid climates. You must replace the reciever/dryer any time you open the system. Its the small canister right below the coolant recovery jug. Also I would reccomend replacing all of the "O" rings if you separate a fitting to ensure future leak free operation. When installing them back, you will want to use some type of "O" ring lube to keep them from getting damaged. If you are going to put the A/C back in later, you might as well leave the condenser(thing in front of the radiator). Its not hurting anything up there and would save you some time when reinstalling. Before you have the system charged and after your dryer is changed, make sure you have the correct oil capacity and pull a vacuum for at least 45 min. Do all of the above and you should be ok
