Who designed them?

 

I believe the technology behind the shocks, magnetic rheological fluid, was founded by Delphi. We had a speaker at school from the company during the spring semester. For demonstration she brought small syringes connected to each other so you could push the fluid from one syringe to the other. When you placed a magnet where the two syringes connected you could no longer push the fluid from one to the other. Apparently the technology is used mainly for vibration absorbing shocks in industrial equipment, and even high-end residential washing machines.

It's the Delphi Magneride which was originally used on the Vettes.

 

I watched it and TIVO'd it last time. Awesome show.
