building internals
so i was about to boost my car but i was told that its easy to blow an h22 if its boosted and the internals are not built. I'm kinda new to this car thing. Can people tell me what i should upgrade to build my internals? and how much will it approx. cost and will it add horses as well?
the h22 is on my 1993 civic hatch.. And i was told that h22 is bout 200 stock.. i'm eventually going to go turbo with it... i've brought it to the tracks and the best i pulled was a 13.720. I wanna pull 13's or under....
If all you want to do is break the 13's, then just get some slicks and a nitrous kit. You can EASILY get into the 12's with a basic turbo kit on your stock motor.
do you think i should build my internals before i put the turbo on?? because like i said people say its easy to blow the engine if its not built right or upgraded
Save whatever you're going to waste on internals and use it towards tuning. Your goals are easily achievable with a minimalist budget.
You should be able to get below 13 with your current setup if you put some time and effort into it.

^^^these people dont know what they are talking about..do compression test on your motor, if your good across the cyl. then boost it and get good tune and you will be A O K

If you do decide to build your H22, make sure you're getting the right internals for your motor.
The H22 has a special sleeve/coating on the cylinder walls...so you either get pistons that are made for that or you get new sleeves...or both

No idea.
All I know is that some guy brought his Prelude to our shop with a "built motor" with regular ol' forged pistons and rods. No problems yet, but eventually the motor seizes up and won't move.
