shifting question
My dad used to drive my hatch, up until last year. He used to shift under 2000 rpm. I havent calculated the mileage, but is this good for the car? Everywhere ive read it says between 3000 and 3500 rpms is best for the car....
It really doesnt. It's harder for the engine to accelerate in a higher gear with a lower rpm, but it does not damagage the tranny. You should shift at anywhere over 3,000 for the best power, but shifting under that does not damage the tranny.

No, it would be more strain.

x2, either 4th or 5th gear on the streets, to keep exhaust note down. But its not loud anyway but still.
