doood is right. your machine shop can easily shave each of your stock b16a rods to fit the CTR pistons. i know because i have this same setup in my 00 Si.

good luck with your build!

b18c1 = gsr, so according to the picture, yes. but then you run into crank/rod-length/stroke issues if you are using a b16 block....

Just have your B16 rods machined, whatever crank you use, you use the rods that come with it. Basic rule of thumb.

CTR cams and pistons do wake up the motor a little bit, but advancing the cam timing along with a bigger exhuast really made it scream.

Since the piston will actually come out of the hole on a B16, it also makes for some rather high compression levels. Dunno about you, but I live in Cali. 100 degree outside temps + rather high compression + 91 octane doesn't sound like a logical mix to me. Retarding the hell out of the timing to compensate for the detonation will be countereffective in any gains you might get. no?

I live in cali and I suffer with the same 100° temps in the central valley with 91 octane.

I do not have to pull timing but I do have to increase fuel. it might not be the best combo, but i have 20,000 miles on this build, still going strong.

My son is running BC 4's with CTR pistons/ rings in his B16 and driving daily.
CR 11.5 - 1. No problems and runs great.

If you understood the difference between static vs dynamic compression then you would have the answer as to why you have "no problems" with those cams and those pistons.

Everyone just always assumes the higher the compression, the more power one can make. There are a little more variables to it then just raising the compression ratio. CTR pistons have an extremely large dome and are a decent amount heavier then other alternatives at that. Anyways, I am not here to argue pro's and cons of these pistons. Just making sure people know the compression is going to be high when using them due to negative deck height.
