Help with suspension squeeking (did search)
I did the search and found some squeeking problems other ppl had but not exactly like mine.
Problem:
Lately the car's front left suspension has been squeeking. When I press down on the hood over my front left tire, it squeeks. When it goes over a bump, it squeeks. At low speeds, I can hear a noise like metal sliding against metal. What could my problem be?
Weird thing is... it did this a months ago, but it seemed to go away. But it's back.
Thanks in advance.

I don't have any suspension mods... stock suspension from since 1994.
I'm hoping it's either the shocks or springs, because it will force me to upgrade them. If it has anything to do with the bushings, control arm etc... then that's not so good.
I did get the bushing replaced over a year ago, but I don't think it was polyurethane. I was new to cars at the time and the mechanic just changed it.

Has your shock been taken off recently? Because if the shock is put on the wrong way it can cause some noise when cornering or maybe even going over bumps. Another thing you can check is if you look at the upper part of the spring you can see that there is some rubber on the upper coils. This rubber is there to prevent squeaking. If it isn't there buy some rubber hose cut it down the middle and put it on the upper coils. Let me know what happens.
this mite sound elementary but it never hurts to check, my rear right side was squeaking for the longest time and one day i decided to go check the shock tower and whaddaya know one of the bolts was loose so i just tightened it as tight as i could and the squeak is now gone.

ive had the same thing..on the left side....if you turn the steering wheel it squeeks a lil and if you bounce on the car it does it too right?? I just lubed up all the pivot points on the control arm and it went away
i have some squeaking also..I have Eibach sportline springs, Koni Yellows, Neuspeed strut bar, st anti sways, so I need to pinpoint where it is.. I'll let you know if I find anything when I take my suspension apart. I'm thinking maybe its the shock cap rubber mount thats worn and rubbing the spring.. not sure though...

i had similar squeaking in my front suspension, and finally found that the strut tower bar was rubbing against the bolt in the shoch tower. easier problem to fix than a bad bushing or shock.
man, i have the same problem, but with my rear right strut. I had it replaced at the end of last summer. And I can only drive my car when I'm home from school. Besides the regular creaks, everything sounded fine over winter break. Then during spring break, my rear right strut was making noised over every bump. I haven't had a chance to check it out. What do you think the problem could be? Lose bolts or something? Which ones should I check?
