Default 07 Gsxr-600. Any reviews or helpful information wanted!

Well after not having a bike since september I am finally looking to buy one. I am going insane without a bike

I have decided (for the most part) on a 07 Gsxr 600. I may get the 750 not to sure yet depends on the money situation here and what financing options I can get.

However I want to know if anyone has rode an 06 or 07 and if they have any thoughts or reviews about it. Any information would be great about the bike I would appreciate it.

Also I found a great deal on them. There is a shop about 1.5 hours from me that is selling new 600s for $7,895 and the 750's for $8,895
And what color do you guys like?

I have an 07 black/blue. I went with the suzuki because of a few reasons. It is the most comfortable bike (for me anyway), I feel it has the best street powerband (makes more power at 6k than any other '07 600, I spend a lot of time around 6k on the street). The bike is my daily driver for the time being so that is important to me. The price was right as well, I got mine for $1000 less than what an R6 or 600rr would have cost. I also bought the bike with the intention of racing it and that looks like a reality for 2008. That said I looked at all the contingencies and Suzuki has the best one behind Buell. Hope this helps.

No complaints at all besides the obvious problems that all stock bikes suffer from. There are 2 things keeping the bike from being a "real" track machine, the tires and brakes.

The tires the bike comes stock with are probably the worst ones out of all the sport bikes in the 600cc class. The BT014s are not even on the same planet as some other bike's stock tires... the Triumph 675 comes with pirelli supercorsas for example.

The brakes are pretty much just like every other stock system... bad. The pads, fluid, and rubber lines have no business on a race replica bike. I went with galfer SS lines, vesrah RJL pads, and motul RBF 600. Problem solved. Imagine lifting the rear tire off the ground under braking on the last lap of the last session of the day, with the same effort/feel it took on the first hot lap of the first session.

There are a few more things that aren't really "complaints" because they were easily remedied, and are subjective. The stock oil in the steering damper wasn't thick enough for my liking so I changed it. I also moved the rearsets back (stock rearsets are adjustable) and changed over to GP shift. All that stuff is personal preferance though.

Overall I'm very pleased with the bike and if I could go back and do it again my decision would be the same.

supposedly, 07 is the last year for the 750, so maybe that would sway your decision.
They're great bikes for short riders, such as me

Have you checked any GSX-R forums? That would be the first place I look - not a honda forum.

Well when I applied for my car loan of only 4,000 my credit union they said 16% back in December that was when I was still in college, no loans ever, and only had my credit card about 8 months.

Not having credit is just as bad as having bad credit I am finding out.

Plus i've seen dealership aprs for bikes are crazy up around 17-21% sometimes.

Have you ever been on the gixxer forum? It's great if you're trying to figure out what color rim stripes to put on.

2 of my buddies have the 06 750 gsxr (blue/white, burgundy/black) and another has an 07 750 gsxr (silver/gunmetal). They said it handles and rides pretty good. Not a bad choice to go with.
Even ppl from http://www.socal-sportbikes.com recommend getting that bike cause of how light the bike is and the horsepower it delivers.

great for shorter people, and get the 750, head over heels better than the 600, overall nice bike tho,

personally, my 600RR > Gixxer. like the way it corners much more

my thoughts on the k6/k7:

1. it's ugly. i hate the way they look. it's a superficial concern, but the whole front end looks like something out of "Aliens". Looks markedly better with race plastics.

2. it's easy to ride. there's no 1 particular thing about it that makes it a facile platform, but you jump on the thing, do whatever it is you do on a bike, and it's right there with you.

3. the power is like all the other I4's out there. midrange is probably better than the R6's of the world, but it's still no triple. i haven't gotten to really wring out a k6/7 600 so i might be missing something here. now that it looks like you're getting a 750, i think power won't be a problem.

4. the transmission is buttery. maybe my fav thing about this bike, but the shifts are smooth and it's a really nice engagement.

5. it's a solid bike. i think the white was the best color scheme, but they discont'd it for the k7.
