Default Redline limiter early?...

I just got my EH2 93cx hatch yesterday and took it for a spin today. It currently has a d16y7, so i know the redline is @ 6200rpm. It only rev's up to 5700 and the limiter goes on and fuel cuts off. Now, there is no CEL lights, the car runs perfectly fine, no leaks, no rough idle, no wierd noises from the engine. Anyone care to chime in? TIA!

Thats cause its running the CX (d15b8) computer still, which has a low limiter. Try looking for a p75 (LS ECU). Friend used that on his y7 EG swapped hatch and it worked wonders.

I see, so I'm probably running an ecu from a D15B7 then?

B8, it has a 6200 limiter. It would be good to find one for a d15b7 which would have a higher limiter, but as i said, a friend of mine had great success with using an LS integra ECU (p75) for his d16y7 in his EG hatch. Motor itself was stock except for bolt-ons. It ran a 15.8 @ 84mph.

Your tachometer might be off too. I have a VX that fuel cuts at 6300, but my tach says it only revs to 5800 or so.

Tachs are rarely terribly off. Its the d15b8's ecu, trust me.

Even with a 6200 limiter, my friends old D15b8 used to lean out by the time you got to around 5700, and would actually physically stop around there, and start dropping!, lol.

Can you tell me why my Tachomoter won't reach 6300 cause my cars all stock. Runs like a champ too, it just bonks out at 5800.

the info in here isnt exact. hes talking about my car. the rev limiter is controlled by the ecu not the motor, the y7 ecu cuts off at 7200 anyway, the b8 ecu from the eh2 cx cuts off at 5700 or 5800, total junk. yes i ran 15.8 in my y7 hach with an ls ecu, only issue is the ls ecu looks for a knock sensor and a 4 wire o2 so it needs a little reqwiring. try running the the b7 ecu, it has a mid 6k rev limiter, its a good match for a y7
