I have a 99 4-cyl Accord I just put a catback exhaust on along with a hi-flow cat/resonator.

How should I handle the exsiting O2 sensor? The OEM pigtail is too short to reach the new mounting location on the resonator. I also wonder how the ECU is going to react with bad readings even I get the old O2 sensor connected.

I can get the sensor connected because the company I work for makes wiring harnesses for Honda. So I am making a extension to mate to the factory connectors in case I ever want to go back to the original cat, I won't have to cut the wires.

But I also had a friend tell me that he has heard of a "fake" O2 sensor that will tell the ECU good readings so I don't run aroung with the Engine light all the time.

If anyone has experience with this, I would appreciate the some input.

O2 sensor simulator is what your friend is talking about.

Any idea where to get one? Is it necessary...I guess my ECU will error even if I get is wired back up?

 

you should be fine, mines wired with black tape and trailer wire, you can get simulators on ebay

 

OK, cool. So you think if I get the original O2 wired back in, I should not get an error code?

How do you like the Megan Racing Header? I bought the Megan Racing Catback for my car. Other than a little interference with a heat shield, it seems to be fine. I recently read a thread where they were putting Megan down. I am new into this tuning thing and want to make sure I don't install junk on my car.

 

its a hit or miss kinda deal, my buddy has one that lines up like ****, mines fine, i bought it until the bisimo header comes out for the h22, they are talking next year-ish so i wouldnt buy it to keep forever, remeber, you get what you pay for
