b16a swap in 99 civic ex
the only thing i need to no is in the distributor on the b16a it has 9 wires and the harness only has 8 i looked at my 97 ex and i found out that the rpm wire is missing does it pick the rpm signal up elsewhere in the 99? if so can i just leave the wire unhooked?

The wire that isn't used is the blue tach test wire, on OBD1 Honda's this wire was used to hook up a tach for underhood diagnostics, the newer civics 96-00, have the test tach connector located just to the right of the clutch master cylinder, with a small rubber boot over it, this wire is spliced from inside the dash to the outside, instead of running in the engine harness, it is simply for diagnostics as is not vital.
The engine gets RPM from the crankshaft position sensor, the ICM also has a RPM output as well that is used for diagnostic purposes, the BLU wire is the RPM signal from the ICM, don't ground it, just cap it off.
