Axle help
I just replaced the drivers side axle on my car everything went fine till I started driving it. From second to the beginning of third I feel a vibration. they gave me an axle for abs and I dont have it. I know there is not a differece. Also my axle had a rubber balancer on the shaft of the axle and when they gave me the new one they said it didnt have one cause it didnt need one. Your help is greatly appreciated

i am not 100% sure the diff. but I think they are little thicker and if you get something for your car that doesnt go with your car...that equals problems
plus the ring gears might be causing your driver side ti shake like the tire being out of balance...just my .02 but I bet thats your problem

There is a different amount of teeth between abs and non-abs, and there is a gear ring on the outside thats is for the abs sensor. You are going to really mess things up if you don't get the right one. Good luck.

i got a quick question make fun of me if u like but im still kinda new at this...for b16 axles would any b series work such as if i get some 99 si axles they would work with any b series swap i do?
just to set the record straight on the abs axles...
you can use abs axles interchangeably with non abs axles, the ring gear doesn't effect the overall dimensions and there are no clearance issues. so far as the spline count, all civic axles have the same spline count at the hub and i believe only itr's have different spline counts at the trans.
like i said, i've used abs axles in a non abs car with no incident

well I know that when they accidentally gave me a abs axle for my non abs civic it would not fit. Maybe they gave me the wrong axle completely but it was not going in. I went back got non abs and it went in like butter

i have used both without issues, the only difference is the ring on an abs axle

The other side may need changing to so caould that be a factor also?? I didnt have this problem till I changed the axle
