When did Mickey Thompson start making a 24.5 x 9.5 x 13 slick? I know they have 9 inch wides.

That tall of a slick and an LS tranny is going to make your gearing pretty long , what motor do you have anyways and what do you plan to rev to? Don't get me wrong the LS tranny works you will just accelerate slower than with a GSR or B16A or ITR tranny

sounds like an issue with your shift point not your tranny.

Hmm dunno if the LS tranny is best matched for your setup... as far as the slicks are concerned, justin ran those same size slicks w/ an ls tranny on his drag ls-t civic and had no issues. Again thats a different powerband and setup. As far as ls/vtec w/ ls tranny is concerned i would say try it and see for yourself how you like it and how well it performs.

I ran 24.5's last year with right around 500whp and the result was 10.7 @134 I dont feel that it was falling out of boost or anything i would not get anything smaller then that tire for 500hp no matter what tranny you where on.
my 60's where 1.64-1.62 w/ out a boost controler with an open diff launching around 9k

get a 4.4 final drive at least !

There you can give your tire size, gear ratios, rpm, etc and it can plot your gearing for you.

i must have done the ls vs gsr tranny test on 4-5 differnt set ups in my car.

the car ALWAYS goes the same ET at a slightly lower MPH with the ls trans. (2-3mph) and it *feels* as if its slightly down on power with the LS.

chad dont you have a 4088r? its impossible to fall out of boost with that turbo, they make boost at idle on a serious note, what RPM does it drop to when you shift?

You should be able to run deep in the 10's with that setup depending on what rpm you are shifting the car at.

Driver error FTW! I only fell out of boost ONE TIME with that turbo GT4088R 1.06 A/R on my stock sleeved LS/VTEC, had a shitty 1.9 60' worst one all last year. I had bogged bad on that one it was weird, went a 10.8 still though then next pass broke 4th gear

im running a ls tranny on a gt4088 in my LS-nonvtec, im not falling out of boost but i rev it up to 9500k from 1to2nd shift.

the ls tran does make it feel like its down on power when doing a 3rd gear burnout.
