Default gauge cluster

My cluster in my 91 hatch dx does not work it lights up, and every thing works but the speedo and fuel gauge does not work. does any one know where i can start looking for the problem thanks.

Did they just stop working?

Are you throwing any codes? If so, check which ones first.

For the speedometer, first check to make sure it is firmly housed within the tranny and that it didnt come loose. If that is not the case, the sensor could be bad, or it lost connection at the gauge cluster.

For the fuel gauge, does it not work at all? Or is it not accurate? The sending unit could have gone out.

Hopefully that sets you off in the right direction.

Make sure you plugged everything in the back of the cluster properly. lolz because that could screw it all up.

is that a technicle term.
and where would that unit be located on a hatch and is it located the same on most cars also how does it work.
