Default Do i need a vin # on my gsr tranny for state ref aka barring

Ok 95 gsr and i know that 95 gsr's dont have vin's on their tranny but my car is missing the vin tag/transmission #. But i do have a bill of sale for the swap. Are the ref's going to give me a rough time about this ? BTW this is not my picture. And i heard that the sticker usually burns off but iono !? let me know whats up fellas

The vin is a metal tag i believe...so it couldn't burn off.

As long as your tranny holes dont have thread for the rivets your fine. Late model 95 gsr and JDM trannys dont have threads in the hole. Also if you buy a replacement tranny from Honda/Acura the will ave the holes but no thread inside the hole.

Because maybe if you purchased a replacement trans, the VIN on the trans won't be the same as your current car

To correct someone above me they do check VIN and Serials numbers through a nationwide computer data base. If the ref wants to be a dick he can fail you for not having the VIN number but just cross your fingers

that has to be the dumbest thing i have ever heard. because if you did purchase a "LIGIT" transmission, you would obviously have a receiept from a reputable company to back up your story.if you don't then their is something shady going on don't you think? dude i am just saying cause in HT magazine i have seen so many badass cars in there with the VIN PLAQUE missing and them at the mag being such "HARDCORE ENTHUSIASTS"you would think they would recognize this. in mop i don't really care as long as its not my motor. but doesn't this raise the question of stolen cars on this site. and if you people really cared about car theft wouldn't you point this out. again this is just my opinion
