it's also got nice low compression pistons....

a "common" upgrade is to put PR3 or P30 pistons and watch the motor come alive with a set of ITR cams and some tuning...

the whole bottom end is pretty much different. (crank, rod length, and pistons) leading to lower compression.

wow it's really good to see more people asking about the b17a. I made a post a while back looking for b17a dyno vs b16a didn't get too much responds though. We should have a b17a crew lol.

yea jus picked up a db2 few weeks ago. last ower didnt give it much TLC. its gettn poor gas mileage and begins to pause when at acceleration at around 3200 rpms. i heard these B17s are beasts .. cant wait til i feel the real power once i figure out what the problems are..

I'm looking at picking up this ED7 with a B17A. The owner said it pulls strong.

And as he is selling the car , there is no-way he would lie to you. Runs perfect, does not burn oil, pulls strong, 40 MPG.

for the B17a

My b17 is currently at the machine shop being rebuilt. About 4-5yrs ago I did a simple rebuild and added oversized p30 pistons. Unfortunately some engine management issues caused the rings to wash out.... But while it lasted it was a very fun motor. IMO the b17a responds very well to higher compression, and the p30's are great if you don't want to get too crazy, just learn from my lesson and get some tuning!

Hopefully by the end of the year I'll have the motor rebuilt and back in the car. I plan on getting it tuned asap and I'll try to remember to post dyno graphs.

what i found interesting about the 92-93 gsr's was that they spanked the 94+ gsr's and damn near get the type r's. The 94+ gsr's pull 0-60 in 7.1 seconds and do the quarter in 15.5. The 93 (92 gsr's are a few tenths slower) gsr's do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and do the quarter in 15.2 stock. Comparably the 1997 Type r does 0-60 in 6.5 also but pulls the quarter in 14.7 so it is only half a second faster in the quarter.

I got my info from http://www.albeedigital.com/su....html
whether it is completely true or not i dont know but from the look of it they are pretty close.

some testing conditions are more favorable than others.... this leads to "fudging" of numbers.

what he said is fact. the 92-93 DB2 is the second fastest integra made in the us, next to the itr. and its very simple.... itr gearing, lighter chassis (than non-itr dc2's), 14" rims. etc. i've witnessed a few DB2's walk 94+ gsr's all day. they are pretty quick for a sub 10/1 c.r. motor and shorter stroke.

b17 W/ctr pistons and skunk2 stage2(+valvetrain upgrade) made 190whp up to 9500rpms and peaked off the chart.
