D16 performance bearings ??which
Ok so I'm planning on building a d16/a6 block y8 head to autocross. I'm rebuilding my 150k+ engine and want it to be strong. I'm looking for the BEST bearings or at least that people have had no problems with. I need rods/mains and I've heard of King, Toga, ACL. Give me some product feedback please!

OEM is just fine!
Although i know people will come in hear and talk about others OEM is the best in my opinion!
Just make sure you get the right color if using OEM!

Looser tolerances
OEM is far superior because they are made for the specific tolerance of your engine

The builder sets the specific tolerances (clearances?) of the engine. If you want your motor to last 160k, and never zing past redline or ever be abused, stick to the stock clearance specs, or play the number/color chart game.

I'm just passing down some of the info I was corrected on and read over the years.

That would depend more on how much profit could be made on one part over the other. Very often short-sighted business ethics gets the better of many parts-slangers/advice givers.

massive ultimate thread jack here...but what do you seasoned pros think of bearings from Taiho Kogyo Co., Ltd. ?
http://www.taihonet.co.jp/e/engine_b.html
The place which used to have ACL bearings for cheap no longer carries them and have these instead. For a set of D16A6 rod bearings in STD size they list at $32.25. mains are $44.96 which then makes me eligible for free shipping...wooT!

I have the ACL race bearing's in my d16 (got them from Rocket Motorsports) and have not had any issues, my hot oil pressure is around 60psi at 2500 rpm, so I don't think the clearaence's should be a problem. this engine proably sees 7000 rpm at least once a day.
I've ran ACL std bearings for an year in my engine without problems. I also have good&high oil pressure at low rpms, and engine sees 8300rpm revlimit multiple times/day. Clearance was .0008 iirc.
Aren't OEM bearings made by Taiho and/or Daido?
