Choosing the right bearings.
I'm building an OBD1 H22 for boost. I need bearings for the mains and rods and have heard a lot of people say that OEM is the best choice just because it fits perfectly. Others say OEM is fine for the mains but that ACL Race is the best way to go for the rods. Anyone have any opinions on this?

I feel like im beating a dead horse when I say this.. Make sure the clearances are correct. <-- Just doing that simple thing will make any bearing last longer

Re: Choosing the right bearings.
just keep in mind that those race bearings are for looser clearances so if you feel like switching out those bearings every few races then get them. If you plan on DD and/or not wanting to open the oil pan every month then get OEM or ACL regular bearings. Just keep the clearances equal.

What's the advantage of the looser clearance in race bearings? I think I've read on the ACL website it oil passage or something? Or does it have to do with reduced friction?
